Bud trimming has never been easier thanks to technological advancements.

http://www.Tomstumbletrimmer.comYou don’t have to be a “techy” to realize that there have been some incredible technological advancements over the past several decades. The world today is hardly recognizable from the one 30 years ago. Everyone is walking around with an incredibly powerful computer in their pocket (the smartphone), people are interacting with technology and AI every single day, companies are using reusable rockets when they ship items into space (SpaceX), voice recognition is commonplace, and more and more homes are fully automated, allowing their users to control various aspects of the home from their smartphone or tablet. It’s been crazy to watch all of this happen and see how things advance, and it’s exciting to think about the advancements and inventions that people will come up with over the next 30 years.

Of course, not all technological advancements have to do with consumer electronics or grandiose things like sending items into space. In the agricultural and horticultural space, there have been advancements as well. It’s now easier to grow things indoors or in difficult conditions, thanks to genetic engineering and advancements in growing lights, and new types of plants are being created that are more resistant to the changing climate.

One incredible invention in this space is in the niche market of bud trimming. Bud trimming is exactly what it sounds like, namely the practice of trimming buds and plants so that a person can extract the parts of the plant they want. In most instances, that means removing the leafs from a plant so that the grower can get their hands on the actual buds, but in some cases, it can even mean extracting pollen from plants and flowers. Well, in the past this process was incredibly tiresome. If you had 20 pounds of plants that you wanted to go through to extract the buds, you might be looking at 200 hours of labor or more. You’d have to get out your little trimmers or scissors and use them, along with your hands, to pull all of the leaves off of the plant.

That’s no longer how it has to be done. New bud trimmers make it possible for people to go through multiple pounds of plants in an hour or less. The dry bud tumbler is perhaps the best example of this new type of equipment. Shaped like a cylinder with a screen around it, a person can load their plants and buds into the cylinder, and then twist a handle on one end to move the plants inside all around. They’ll bump up against the screen, and this pulls the leaves off of the plant and leaves only the buds behind. A person can go through a huge quantity of buds in a fraction of the time it used to take.

Dry bud tumblers like the one made by Tom’s Tumbler are completely changing the bud trimming game. These incredible creations have made it easy for farmers and growers to mow through huge quantities of plants and herbs in a 20th or 30th of the time that it used to take.
